moralabsolutism: (Rorschach Port of Shadows)

"You're smarter than you look," Rorschach finally said. Had he meant for that to be actually heard? Not entirely. But it came out anyway, his thoughts no longer just left in his own mind for him to react to. Lestat had seemed foppish and bit of an idiot up to this point to the vigilante. Now he was beginning to see that there was more to the Frenchman than the superficial charm and good hair. Again, he felt that eerie sense of being faced with someone similar to Ozymandias in temperament and overall nature.

He let the next part go through his usual rambling inner way of talking. "Last time I trusted someone like you, smart, handsome, and charming, he set me up for a murder I didn't commit. Funny thing was he'd been completely trustworthy up to that point for almost twenty years. So I have a feeling I can trust you as long as I'm useful to you. And when I'm not, then I'll know this relationship has run its course. Like when you shoot a racehorse when it breaks its leg."
