It's true that he's been able to hear the sound too. Not as loudly as others might, but even though neither of them have Aurora Call, the sound is strange enough that everyone is likely to pick up on it at least somewhat..

But since he's still trying to figure out what's going on here, Billy doesn't answer the first question right away. Instead he seems to think for a moment, and then slowly answers: "I was talking about the pain."

It's not something he might admit so openly to anyone. Most people wouldn't think Billy was touching anyone to begin with, after all. But Chloe is one of the few people who does know why that would be a problem for Billy.

"I thought that was the only thing that was happening right now-- that the crying had something to do with that."

But apparently not..?
