The more this man talks, the more Hickey understands. People can be a bit weird about it. Death is going to come to anyone. Darkness is going to happen to anybody. What matters is how you handle it, how you deal with the death and darkness and all the rest in the world. What you do to rise above it.

"Everybody wants the best things in life," Hickey muses. "They want everything to be nice and smooth, easy and perfect. But that's not how things work, yeah? There's always going to be someone who suffers."
