It stands to reason that he's out here in these woods with the same motivation she has — or similar. There are only so many of them who have likely taken it upon themselves to locate a cache, and while Lanfear might have benefitted from letting someone else accompany her for the sake of having more eyes available, she's also more inclined to secure whatever she finds for herself if it proves valuable enough rather than sharing it with the remaining masses.

The response, as it comes, is short enough to take her somewhat by surprise, and some of her outer mask slips, that initial innocence giving way to a subtle glint of censure, as if she's wordlessly scolding him for his rudeness. Just as soon as it appears, she smooths it out again, lips curving into a closed smile as she briefly tilts her head.

"Are you looking for something too?" It does reveal her intention, in searching for a cache, but she's also hoping to goad him into admitting it, too.
