Billy hasn't really minded the fact that Hickey seems to hang out in the wilds more and more during this time. After all, Billy isn't an idiot. He has noticed the way his own irritability seems stronger than the usual. He has noticed the way people around town seem generally angrier too - he's definitely spotted more than just one fight out on the streets. That weird darkness and the general ominous mood must be putting everyone on edge.

And it's not even like he has never argued with Hickey before. That's not what he's worried about if they spend too much time around each other right now. No, it's more that Billy knows his power is tied to his emotions, and the last thing he wants to do is accidentally set either Hickey or their house on fire when this place is going far enough to hell in a handbasket already.

So while the other man is out in the woods, Billy takes care of the house - or he goes out to Kieren's place to spend some quiet time there, which is exactly what he's on his way back home from when he spots Hickey likely having come back from another run in the woods.

".. hm."

It's just a small hum, but just from the way Billy's lips press so tightly together, it's easy to see he agrees. That he hates what's going on right now.

"Might as well end up being a month of this, at this rate." Who even knows when this weird atmosphere might finally lift.
