"Strange," Hickey muses. There's not much else he can say about that. It's bloody weird, he doesn't know how to comment on it. Blokes dressing up as monsters to guard a hidden city...he's got ten billion questions and if he asks them, he suspects he'll get even more questions.
"Your life's bloody weird," he decides, before offering Chloe a strip of meat. It's cooked, slightly seared to better hide it's source: sliced from the leg of Patrick, the man who Hickey stabbed, murdered, and left in the woods after harvesting enough meat to keep himself and his alive.
He's not telling Chloe that, though. If she eats, the meat tastes distinctly off, different enough from anything she's had here. But it's meat and it'll stop the hunger and that's what matters the most.
