Thankfully it seems that Chloe manages to catch the man by surprise so much that it's easy for her to haul him backwards. At first there's not even any resistance, but once the man seems to realise what's happening, he starts to struggle wildly against Chloe's grip, trying to escape from it.

Billy, on the other hand, uses the space he's gotten again to at least move up a little on the ground, leaning on one elbow while moving the hand of his other arm to rub at his throat. There's the ugly red imprint of fingers digging in on there, and it hurts, but at least he isn't choking anymore.

The fall and the brief strangling did take a lot out of him though, so he isn't getting to his feet right away. He doesn't have the energy for it. Billy does aim a worried look over at Chloe and the struggling man though, hoping she'll be able to deal with it before the man turns on her too.
