"I did," Hickey nods. "There were a few months on my own before Billy arrived."

Well, not exactly on his own. A few months where Hickey was stuck with a handful of men who loathed his mere existence.

"I'm glad he showed up when he did," he admits. "I'd probably have moved out to Lakeside or found a cabin in the woods if six people showed up from my past and they were all men I fucking hated."
