For Hickey, what matters is the moment. Not the past, not the future, just the here and now. What can he do to make his life better right now? What can he do to improve himself? Things like 'consequences' or 'planning for the future' slip his mind more often than not. Yeah, he killed that guy. But he was hungry. And he'd do anything for food. And things like 'dealing with the corpse' are a problem for future him.

And right now? In this moment? Hickey wants a bit of sex. Feeding Billy will lead to something more, Hickey will happily get that something more.
