cw: corpse, body mutilation

[ Lestat circles around to his cargo and loosens its binds, tugging somewhat irritably at them where cold has stiffened rope to inflexibility. ]

Half-frozen, I'm sure.

[ And, after Lestat grips the edge of the rolled up carpet and gives the side of the bundle an unceremonious boot, it's revealed to be so.

The dead man plops stiffly into the snow, drained to such pale, waxen lifelessness it's almost hard to credit he ever lived at all instead of having been fashioned as some tailor's intricate display piece. He's already been stripped of all clothing except his underlayers, which Lestat provides a swift explanation for: ]

I prefer not fumbling with layers when they're already stiff.

[ He comes around to tip the dead man onto his back from his side, frosted over brown eyes staring sightlessly up at the empty sky. The wound that killed him is a tiny thing, a set of bloodless puncture marks in his neck. Only a thin brown ring of dried blood on the collar of his thermal shirt highlights its location. Lestat frowns down at it. ]

That will have to go...besides that, what do you think? Sever the hands, set them over the eyes? Or fan them above the head like antlers?
