Raju starts scratching the wolf's head absently to quiet its whining, focusing mostly on Francis and the look of indulgent scepticism Raju is levelling at him. If Francis is giving it a name, he's making a pet of it. But Raju doesn't mind quite enough to argue, certainly not when Francis seems so pleased about it.
