Don't scream. That truly is all the warning he gets. And a shitty warning at that, considering it's more ominous than actually helpful, especially without any further explanation.

And even more so when Hickey just changes into an animal. Right in front of Billy's eyes. Sure, he's kind of used to weird supernatural stuff by now, but there's a wide, wide gap between that and watching your lover turn into a wolf right there on your bedroom floor. It's like his brain can't process what his eyes are seeing, and though Billy doesn't visibly startle at the change, he looks utterly baffled and surprised. Like he's frozen in shock.

In fact, it's not even Billy who responds to this information first. No, it's his power. The emotional shock is strong enough that it ignites his power without him making the conscious choice to do so, and the moment the tatters of Hickey's torn pyjamas drop off him and to the ground, they spontaneously burst into flames.

That fact seems to shock Billy out of his freeze reaction just enough for the man to curse under his breath, jumping out of bed to grab the scraps off the floor and he quickly opens the window to chuck them out into the snow. He's not going to have their house burn down just because Hickey felt the need to wolf out, okay!

"Christ--" He starts, his hands shaking a little as he closes the window, turning back around to see that-- indeed, the wolf is still there. He did not in fact dream that his husband turned into a creature. Great. "Can you please remember something like that can happen if you do things like these?"

Yes, he will address the entire wolf part of it all in a moment.

Just give his racing heart a moment to slow down again. Billy looks pale enough - even compared to his usual already pale complexion - to look like he might pass out any moment.
