The similarity between the phone and radio when it comes to communication is noted, and once again it seems like something that would be incredibly useful. But having already decided not to pursue that particular thought, he refocuses on the still practical but much more fun idea of instant daguerreotypes. Photographs.

It's strange how alike and yet how different it is to look at the screen of the phone; it's almost like looking through the lens of a camera, and yet still so different. But the connection between the technology he's used to and this modern equivalent is still there, intangible and invisible, but somehow apparent and unmistakable. For as unfamiliar and overwhelming as it can be to ended up in what's not only a different place, but a different time as well, it's a strange but welcome feeling to be reminded that a century and a half isn't truly all that long.

"What must be done to take the photo?" It looks like there are small buttons on the phone, but it's difficult to tell what each of them might do, if anything.
