Raju makes an enthusiastic noise, looking up from the bowl of tea he's setting carefully on the table across from Francis. "It needs a lot of foraging, but what else is there to do here? Someone here gathered up most of the town's books, there's plenty useful instruction there." He sits, gesturing at a thick, well used notebook sitting near the fireplace. "I've been taking notes, if you'd like to take a look. I can't get two batches to taste the same, but I think I'd need to buy yeast for that. All the recipes are that way; always needing something I can't get to."

He looks at Francis with a little grimace. "Jopson's doing better than us there," he complains. "I still can't figure out how he made that acorn bread with nothing." Eating bread of any kind again had been wonderful, but coming back and finding he didn't know enough about baking to figure out how to make it work himself — well. He likes Jopson well enough, but Jopson's doing better than he is at bread. Intolerable.
