don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy, she'll beat you if she's able [ OCTOBER CATCHALL ]
Who: Lalo and YOU!
What: Non-event catchall log for the month of October
When: Throughout the month of October!
Where: Literally everywhere.
Content Warnings: TBA.
I. THROUGHOUT MILTON AND LAKESIDE | REBUILDING | OPEN
You might be working on rebuilding your home, or your place of business, or someone else's home. You could be in Milton or in Lakeside. Wherever you are, a familiar or not-so-familiar smiley face pops up, seemingly out of nowhere! But perhaps you saw him coming. Or perhaps you didn't. Either way, he's here now! Lalo beams brightly at you! "Hello!" He gestures to what you're working on. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I couldn't help noticing it looked like you needed some assistance. Would it be all right if I join you?"
II. COMMUNITY HALL | THE LIBRARY | OPEN
Lalo sits in a small, torn up sofa beside the collection of books that some of the others have kept as a library at the Community Hall. He studies a children's book intently, often staring at it for several minutes as if the contents make no sense to him. He has a old notebook with some of the pages torn out, and a sporadically reliable ink pen with him. Diligently, he takes notes, almost like he was cramming for a physics exam. For anyone curious enough to get close, they might see that the book he pours over so methodically, with such intense scrutiny, is a child's picture book detailing how to apologize. Lalo seems very confused by a lot of what it's in it.
III. A CLEARING IN MILTON | FOR RANDVI
Lalo is determined to make up for his nagging guilt and misery, and he's overcompensating by acting super!! Happy!! Because that's what you do, right? Randvi's strength is returning, but her balance is still off. If there's one way Lalo knows how to help with balance, and overcompensate for his own depression, it's with football! He's luckily been able to scavenge an only-mildly-deflated soccer ball from somewhere, and now he stands on the field spinning the ball on one finger, winking at Randvi. Ulfrún sits by his side, intently watching him spin the ball.
IV. THE MILTON CHURCH | OPEN
Lalo doesn't come to the church as much as he used to; seems like somebody's living there now. But he can't stay away right now. It's so lame, he thinks, being here, but it's like he can't resist the pull of it. Like maybe he'll find answers there. If you enter, for once, he won't notice. He's kneeled at one of the pews, face in his hands.
V. HUNTING WITH ULFRUN | MILTON OR LAKESIDE | OPEN
Lalo finds it easier to be a wolf than a man right now. Wolves don't think, they only feel. And Ulfrún is a delightful companion. They run together, play together, hunt together. Lalo is large, black, golden-eyed, with visible gray on his muzzle. Ulfrún is half-grown, still partly a puppy, cream and white, crossed with dog. Eventually they encounter another wolf or a person. If you are a wolf, Lalo will greeting you with an instinctive Hello! If you are a person, he will hesitate, gauging you for safety before slowly approaching.
VI. HYDRODAM STAFF QUARTERS | LAKESIDE | OPEN
No longer to able to make his home where Glenn was buried, Lalo has re-located permanently to the Hydrodam Staff Quarters. But don't worry! He still returns to Milton frequently, to crash with his favorite people. But today, he's in Lakeside. If you go to the staff quarters, you'll know it as soon as you open the bathroom door. You will be blasted by hot steam and the sound of a man's voice singing quietly.
VII. WILDCARD | OPEN

“When you told me we would be training this isn't exactly what I'd imagined.”

Instead he finds an older man looking intensely over a book that he can only describe as childish, colourful and illustrated in a way he's never actually seen before. Possibly the oddest part, though, is the way the man's studying it like it's some secret tome that refuses to reveal its secrets.
So it's sheer intensity of curiosity that prompts him to step closer and clear his throat gently, before he says, "Sorry, do- are you alright, there?"
