A large boat just for traveling — Sansa resists to interrupt that it's the express function of a ship or boat, but as she listens further she begins to understand. A sailing gallery, she decides. That's what this fanciful ship is supposed to be, like the small boats she used to embark on with family and sworn lords the few times she's gotten to visit the Riverlands.
Such trips were always short, of course, on account of the reavers that littered the riverlines, but she thought it wonderful back then.
"A palace on the water sounds messy," Sansa adds with some humor. The palaces she's known have not been... well-kept, in a word, compared to the clean halls of Winterfell that she'd grown up in. "And they— take another's life aboard the ship? How would the murderer get away with the crime?"
