John is far too normal of a name for-- well, whatever this being is. To a point where none of this makes sense. For a moment Billy wonders if maybe the cold is getting to him or something, because how else would he be talking to someone who doesn't look human at all, but who is casually calling himself John of all things? That's even a normal name to Billy, and he's from Victorian times!

But his confusion doesn't seem fake, from what Billy can see. As odd as the other seems, he's reacting in the way Billy has seen many new people react. The way he knows he himself has reacted when he first found himself here.

".. we were taken here," he says.

(He kind of figures maybe the concept of that isn't as strange to John, considering he clearly does not seem like a normal person. Or at least less strange than it was to Billy himself.)

"By an unknown force," he adds, but then hesitates. He's not sure if he can trust John or not, but.. Billy points in the direction that leads further into town. "There is food and warmth at the hall, if you are looking for that."
