John opens his mouth to ask a question, but he's been made abundantly aware that people hear him now so he closes it again and waits, patiently?ish for Arthur to explain who this is and why he's important to Arthur. He can't help the little tear of jealousy through him at the thought, but that brings memories of another snowy house, mistakes made he doesn't intend to repeat, and it cools him off considerably. He won't let go of Arthur (six months!) but he will loosen his hold so Arthur can sit up.
