Awoken by the attack, the snake whips its head around towards Rorschach. When it pauses for a moment before going in for a strike Levi fires a shot, hitting the beast in the eye.

That should help his current partner get out of the thing's sight much easier. Levi lines up his next shot but waits to see which was Rorschach is moving before firing.
