[ But he falls quiet for a moment, considering it. But you don't seem like a monster to me. It sits like a stone within him. He doesn't want to be a monster, but it doesn't change the fact he is one. But— he gets it. Hickey had told him that people would see him as Kieren, it'd be the best shot he'd have when they found out about the whole 'zombie thing'. ]

I just... I just want to be me. I'm just... Kieren. [ Even with what Hickey told him, he still wants that. Even with the horrible things he's done, even when he knows he's a monster — he's just Kieren. ] But... thanks, for not thinking I'm a monster.

[Chloe shrugs.] I never got the chance to go to, like… normal Canada. Before. But from what I understand, that's the way the people these lands belong to live on them, right? Use every piece of your catch. I can't eat the brain, so right now it just goes to waste.

If you want ‘em regular I might charge to go out there and hunt, but I don't mind giving you stuff I already caught.

Okay. [ He nods, resigned. ] Um, I'd... really appreciate that. Thanks. I can... let you know if I need you to go out...? But just... I guess whatever you have right now's fine. I don't exactly know how much I'll need.

“I usually do this every couple of days. Keeps me normal when I'm eating with other people.” She really is afraid of people cutting her off when things get tight if they know she needs more than other people.

“I’ll drop ‘em by. Want me to walk you home?” They're both a little bloody at this point but it's fine.

[ Kieren nods. That sounds pretty fair, actually. Couple of days. He hopes he won't need too much. He hopes. ]

... Alright. [ He nods again. ] Yeah.

[ Definitely more than a little bloody. Kieren's hesitant, moving to wipe his hands in the snow. He doesn't dare wipe at his face. Even in the dark, he's worried about wiping off his cover up mousse and someone else seeing him.

It's better than nothing, but only then he's fine to finally get to his feet to leave. ]
