{I am up against the wall
Who: Five + Various
When: Month of September
Where: Around town
What: Various threads through the month.
Warnings: Depression/anxiety/PTSD mentions or descriptions; assassination/mass murder/themes of war; flippant references to child abuse/neglect/violence; mentioned and played out use of alcohol (which looks like underage use, all considered); will clearly mark if-when anything comes up.

I have killed a man and all I know
Is I am on the run and go

lmk if silent tags don't work for you <3
As they start to ease away from the town, a little off the beaten path, so-to-speak, Five starts taking more careful notice of things. Namely, just how desolate everything really seems to be. The whole town seems to have been abruptly abandoned and there's an uncomfortable dissonance in the evidence of lives being lived here and finding no real signs of life at all.
It reminds him of that post-Apocalyptic wasteland he was stuck in for so many years. The thought settles heavy in the pit of his stomach and he forces it back down with a bitter-pill swallow.
They're fine <3
Whatever it was it made him uneasy, so he moves his rifle to his hands. He knew he had to conserve ammo, that had become a familiar feeling during the Festival, but it made him feel a bit better. And maybe if they found people instead of monsters they could use it to intimidate them. Maybe.

"Really hoping you don't need to use that," not least of which because, honestly, he'd like a simple, nice, uneventful day of scouting.

"If the animals are normal they might avoid us. But if it's people or...something else thats dangerous out here...yeah."

"Something else... like what?" he asks, glancing over at him with a curious squint before focusing on where he was going once again a moment later.
no subject
"Uh..." Does he just say 'momsters?' That sounded crazy. Mutated people or animals sounded unlikely too. Damn...what does he say here?
"...you know. More dangerous things. Or something."

The hesitation makes him glance back over, one eyebrow quirked upwards in expectation of the rest of the sentence–
– which is finished a second later on a pretty disappointing note. Five's nose scrunches a bit and he looks ahead again. "If you think it's aliens, just say you think it's aliens." Sort of a joke, sort of not at all– a subtle nod to the fact that things in the general realm of 'weird' by most of society were not unheard of in his own life.

A beat.
"No?" He shakes his head and waves a dismissive hand, "Nevermind, it's not a big deal. They're probably not even real."
no subject
"...yeah. Something like that."

The wind picks up and Five tugs his jacket closer in an effort to trap in some warmth against the sharp chill of it. There isn't much to note for the first leg of their journey, a few landmarks that he scribbles down in his notebook to keep an eye out for on the way back later.
He doesn't have any set list of things he's specifically looking for, not on this first journey out into the wider area of the town they've found themselves trapped in. This is just a general scouting mission- seeing what there is away from the center of town.

Nothing that seemed really useful or like it'd answer anything. But he did learn he should really find gloves after that get back to town.
