Shouldn't you be resting somewhere?
[ Shouldn't you be resting somewhere, Wynonna? ]
How's your leg?

Ruby gave a light little smile and a shrug.]
Yeah. Probably. No ones holding me down though, so I'm going where I want.
[At least she's honest about it.]
Not as bad as it was when it happened. It's still stings a little when I walk, Might be a bit before I start running again.
[She was down playing it, but she also had a tendency to over do it.]
How about you? How are you holding up?

Getting there. It's just a pain to try and do anything one-handed. Cook, wash my hair... all of it.
[ But she's taking her time. The last thing she wants is to get yelled at again, and her balance still isn't good enough for her to make it back across the bridge to Milton, anyway. ]
Just... do me a favor and try not to make it worse, okay? I'm not gonna stop you from going where you want, but I already got yelled at for getting you shot to begin with. Things are not gonna go well if you don't get better.

Okay. I'll take some pain with every step over struggling with all that. I can give you a hand if you really need it?
[But then there's a pause as Wynonna says that, and suddenly Ruby feels a little guilty. She is aware that she had a tendency to push herself further than she should. ...As much as she wanted to say she was working on it. Apparently that wasn't doing the trick.]
I- I'm sorry. I didn't know that had happened.
It wasn't even you're fault to begin with. We both chose to go out there- We knew the risks.

[ She looks over at Ruby, mouth tilting and wry, and shrugs. ]
It's okay. I deserved it.
[ As much as she hated it at the time, it's not like Little was wrong. She should have known better, she did know better, and she went ahead and did it anyway. Reckless. Thoughtless. ]
But, seriously, let's try to keep the injuries to a minimum for at least the next couple of weeks, okay?

[She can admit to that. They had made a mistake and it had definitely cost them more than a little pain.]
But we were also trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. And now we know better for next time.
[She considers it for a little, but ends up nodding.]
I think we can manage that. How hard could it possibly be not get into trouble around here?
maybe a nice fade?
[ Because fuck those guys for shooting a teenager. How she'll get back at them, she's not quite sure, but it's definitely going to happen. She's just gonna have to bide her time. (And maybe rustle up a posse.)
At what Ruby says next, though, she laughs, bright and unfettered. ]
Right.
[ Another chuckle as she shrugs, leans to nudge her shoulder against the younger girl's. ]
Easy. That should be no sweat for us.
Sure!
[Ruby had a weird relationship with being shot, attacked, or hunted for a teenager. She didn't quite see the problem with that, which was kind of a problem in itself. But she didn't want anyone else to get hurt by these people either. It was something they'd have to work at.
Either way she felt a little better after having talked to Wynonna about this. She returns the nudge with one of her own. Then she looks to the soup she had been making.]
Exactly. I mean- Assuming we survive this.
