[ There's something about all this, something about the mystery of that fog that entices Hilbert. He wants to learn about this. He wants to know what this place is and how the hell things here work.
He's a good patient as Jim bandages up his hand. After all, he's a doctor. He knows the struggle of having a less than ideal patient (especially one who you can't drug.) ]

[ If not all of them, even. It seems like everything this fog touches, it does harm to. He just worries how long the buildings might resist. ]
We should keep track of the timeline. See how long it lasts, if it comes and goes. If it's only causing damage to us and other life forms or if it starts corroding into other things.
[ He keeps fastening the bandage around the man's hand while he talks, taking a bit of time since he doesn't often need to bandage people up, but at least the work is precise, tight in place, and it looks pretty secured once Jim's done. ]
That should hold for a while, but I can get you another bandage if you need to swap it later.

I am medical doctor back home. Fully expect that aspect of my skills to be put to use here. Though I will admit, used to less primitive technology.
[ Still, bandaging a wound and setting a broken leg doesn't change. ]

[ He is definitely interested in whatever Hilbert documents, and any potential conclusions he draws from that. They don't know yet how long this fog might last, after all; it could very well be an issue they'll have to deal with on a regular basis from here on out. ]
You and I both, [ He huffs. ] We have dermal regenerators back in my world that just anyone can learn to use to heal basic injuries. It'd take care of your wound in seconds. Having to rely on basic first aid all the time is going to be tough.

Out of curiosity, what year are you from? Dermal regenerators sound like technology developed in few year, but not yet in my time.

2259. We've got a lot of medical advancements that would come in handy around here.

But even that might not say much. I have talked with multiple people who did not have space travel as commonplace in 2016.

[ He is pretty pleased when he realizes by Hilbert's words that he's no stranger to it. ]
Mankind hadn't done much space travel back in 2016 either, in my timeline. How far out have you made it, in your reality?
