[Randvi takes the envelope, her other hand over her mouth. She's reminded abruptly of the morning that Tove, the apprentice tattooist, had shown up at her door to say that her master Svend had died in his sleep. She’d been devastated, thrown into a career without full training and knowing that the one who had taught her would never reach Valhalla. That's how Randvi feels now.]
Do you know… for his people, is that a good death? Have you spoken of such things?

[ Fraser removes his hat and walks the brim in his hands, very like the first day he came to find Randvi, searching for burial clothes for another fallen friend. Though his expression is controlled, his face is drawn and weary and full of quiet sorrow. ]
He'll be able to find his family, now. I truly believe wherever he is... if he made it to his Beach, or somewhere else... he's happy.

[Randvi nods, stowing the envelope in a pouch at her belt. She’ll read it later, when she's alone and there is no shame in weeping.]
To survive everything that's happened, only to fall to this...
[She doesn't want to point it out, but Fraser looks to be in pretty bad shape himself.]
Will you need help with the arrangements?

[ There's a slight hesitation before he admits it; not out of wounded pride, simply because there is so much to do and he is far from his most capable. ]
He asked to be cremated, some distance from the town. I'd appreciate any help you or anyone else might be able to offer.

I assume you know how to put together a sledge?
oh my god this is so old but at least we can wrap it
[ And if he had a few more puppies to train, he could soon have a team to pull a sledge. As it is, he has himself, and Randvi, and Diefenbaker.
That should be more than enough. Heartman wasn't a large man. ]
Thank you, Randvi. I appreciate you offering to help. I believe Heartman would appreciate it, too.
