... Not in the face. [ A few punches in the shoulder from Cornelius, but Kieren doesn't feel petty enough to rat the man out. He deserved it anyways, in all honesty. He really has expected someone to get him in the face.

But he takes the bag from Billy, carefully opening it to reveal the knit sweater within. It's not a punch to the face, no. But it's certainly a punch to the gut. Kieren's heart sinks, his expression shifting. He's genuinely touched by the gift, a little stunned by it and a little saddened — he doesn't deserve this. ]

It came out the wrong size. [ Too big for Hickey, too small for himself.. Look, it's hard when you're working with two guys who have relatively weird sizes for their time period, okay. With how small Hickey is for a man, and how tall and lanky Billy is.. At least Kieren gets a little closer to a happy medium compared to that.

Kieren may start to look a little emotional about the gift, but Billy explains it very neutrally, like he's describing objective facts. ]

I imagined it might fit you. And that you might like to wear something else after defecating all over the woods for a month. [ .. okay. Yes, that last part is definitely a little more dry.

Kieren may not be getting any anger or punches from Billy, but somewhere between the way he's being petty enough to poke a little at Kieren's actions in this way and the fact that he brought along a gift for the other says that he's been worried in his own way. ]
