I don't understand the future at all. As long as I could convince them that you're not a full draugr, our healers would not harm you.

People are curious by nature. [ It's always been like that, hasn't it? Doesn't matter what the year is. ] We're always trying to work things out: how things work, why things are, what might happen.

The dead are supposed to stay dead. When that isn't a thing, people want to work it out.

They're meant to heal people and instead they harm them to satisfy their curiosity. I can see why so many of your people fear doctors.

The doctors back home weren't so bad. They did want to help us.

Though I suppose most of them would not know how to treat draugr regardless. I'm sorry things are so complicated.

In the early days, we were hunted and killed. Scientists eventually worked out how to make us... 'normal' again. [ There isn't really an explanation for that, but Kieren's not stupid. Some of those like him had to be tested on, to see if the Neurotriptyline would work. ] ... I guess some of us were technically experimented on. I guess that means me, too — to see if it work on me. Probably.

[ He doesn't like thinking about it. ]

My sister found me. She couldn't bring herself to kill me, so I got handed in and treated.

[What a horrible thing for both of them, to know she’d seen that.]
