Lalo grins at Bigby, and points. ]

Hey! You got it! I knew you were smart. [ Maybe not the most orthodox way to begin a confession of criminal activity, but hey. ]

[bigbaddy]

[ Okay, hold on, just--

Give him a moment to sigh. Then Bigby reaches his hand up, pinching the bridge of his nose. ]

Fuck, man. How low are your inhibitions?

[ He isn't even bothered by the way the man is saying it as much as he is about the implications of it all. ]

I like to think that the Darkwalker would have to get into my head real good before I'd be doing that shit to anyone who didn't deserve it. You're seriously saying that's less so the case for you? Would you have killed me if we ran into each other the other month, huh?

[ Lalo falters, looking at Bigby. He looks shocked by the question. ] You? No. I like you.

[ He seems to not even fully realize what he's saying. What he's admitting to. ]

A pause.

Then - and maybe Lalo will only realize what he just said now, when Bigby echoes it back to him: ]

You like me?

[ One would say this should have been obvious, given how Lalo loves clinging to Bigby like some sort of barnacle, without Bigby ever having to initiate anything. But then again, Bigby is notoriously stupid when it actually comes to being able to tell that someone has any positive feelings towards him at all.

Hence his surprise in the moment. ]
