Barricades
Through out the month, Levi stations himself at the barricades near the mine entrances. He'll visit the Milton side each day, standing guard and watching the mine entrance for a few hours before moving on. On this side he's more casual, but when he visits the Lakeside entrance he's more on guard. There he stands at attention and keeps an eye on any sign of Forest Talkers. Early in the month he visits that side every few days, but as the month goes on he visits it less. Maybe the Forest Talkers had more to worry about than planning revenge for the kidnapping.


Tea Time
Levi'd been out in the woods for a long time when he came across the old woman. She was strange, but the fire was very welcoming. As was the tea, though his instinct was to mistrust it. She clearly wasn't a Forest Talker, though, and Bill and Methuselah were safe enough. He still didn't trust the old man (he probably never would) but none of them had given the Interlopers anything to hurt them. Mostly, though, he was cold and hot drinks did wonders to warm hm up. He probably should have listened to his instinct, though.

Early afternoon one day a child comes wandering into Milton from the wilds. At 10 years old, Levi's oversized coat is now comically large. He's rolled his pants and sleeves up as much as he can and he's dragging along a rifle that's much too big
for him. Maybe he should have left the rifle behind but there were wolves out in the woods and he was too afraid to leave it. Thankfully he hasn't tried to fire it, since the skinny, somewhat malnourished kid's body wouldn't take the recoil well. He looks like he's been crying and if he spots you he'll start to hurry over and then stop.

Adults could be scary. He doesn't know if they are here or not, but he should be careful. He doesn't know how he got here but what if him doing so was bad? He could get in trouble! Getting in trouble was really bad.

Or maybe you're resting quietly in your cabin and hear someone try the door. People might be around, but a house was better than being out in the snow and maybe if he's really careful he can duck inside for just a few minutes. Hopefully no one is home, but if they were he could be quiet!


Laying next to Meow
Though the larger tremors were obviously an issue, even the smaller ones could be a problem. After this last minor one Levi could be found kneeling on the ground next to a random cabin's porch. He's looking at something under it and speaks in a soft, calm voice. "Its okay Mary. The shaking's over. You can come out now."

From under the porch a small, pitiful meow responds to him.


Wildcard
Or maybe you run into Levi somewhere else. He's still going about his normal daily patrols, hunts and log chopping exercises. He over nights in the community hall like usual, and even makes it out to the basin, hot spring or Lakeside (more than just the mine entrance) at points during the month.

"Yeah. We did that together...or, well, I showed up with the same idea when he was already watching them. He helped me dig graves later, too. He seems pretty capable.

"I didn't realize his name was also Levi for awhile. I don't think I've met anyone else with that name."

"Where I come from, it's a brand name for trousers." Probably not in either of their homeworlds, they both seem to come from pretty different places.

"Really? Huh. I-its it a person's name too or just a brand?"

[desperate_times_right]

"Yeah, I think it's named after a person."

[solitarysoul]

"Huh." Interesting. But not really. "So how are things other than worrying about the Forest Talkers?"

[desperate_times_right]

"Things are going good with the greenhouse. I was out here to see if Lalo wanted some of the produce for his restaurant." If she's looking a little smug, this is the reason why. She's been having a good time these past few days.

[solitarysoul]

"Oh, that's good to know! I'm really looking forward to fresh veggies. I'll have to stop by and help sometime in the next few days." And maybe grab some for himself.

"Did he say yes? I didn't realize he was running a restaurant over here until just a few days ago."

[desperate_times_right]

"Right? I can't wait." Especially after all the insecurity last month. "And yeah. I figured he would, but now I know what to set aside for him."

[solitarysoul]

"Louis probably wants some too." He'd still prefer to not have stores and just share things, but he's pretty sure Chloe wouldn't trust that. "Just hope there's some left over for the rest of us. Those who helped, at least."

Levi's probably been visiting every few days to help out however is needed. He's so bored here.

[desperate_times_right]

"Yeah, I meant to offer some to Louis but he hasn't been at the store." Who knows what's up with him? "He's kind of cross with me."

[solitarysoul]

"Oh yeah...I noticed that too. He always kept kind of odd hours for it." With the night-only thing. "I wasn't sure if I was just missing him or not paying attention."

He pauses for a bit, then adds, "...are we sure he's still here?"

[desperate_times_right]

"... I don't know." Privately Chloe thinks she'd have heard some kind of dramatics from Lestat if Louis had disappeared, but maybe he doesn't know yet. "He lives on my street. Maybe I'll have to go check in on him."

[solitarysoul]

"Yeah. Might be a good idea to do that. I wonder if we should start checking on each other if we don't see someone for awhile." That was kind of a depressing duty, but he supposes it might be important. Or intrude upon people who'd just rather be left alone. He should just stick to checking on his friends the people he likes allies from time to time.

[desperate_times_right]

"It really must be the aurora that does it." In some ways not a surprise, but it's still weird. "No one disappeared for no reason during the long night."

[solitarysoul]

Was that true? He's not sure, but he supposes if it wasn't he'd have had less bodies to bury. "Maybe. I'm not sure we'd ever know unless we saw it take some one. Or it took us."

He's still going to think of them as dead, though. It added a finality that made things easier for him.

[desperate_times_right]

“Yeah, guess it doesn't really matter anyway.” It's not like they can stop it from happening.

[solitarysoul]

"Yeah..." He sighs. "I guess just make sure we have back up plans if people we rely on disappear or die. That's why I started learning medicine, really."

[desperate_times_right]

“Oh, that's smart.” They've got backups on a lot of other stuff but doctors are pretty specialized.

[solitarysoul]

"Yeah. Back when I first got here a doctor helped me with some stuff. But when I had to go get stitches removed he was gone. I've tried to learn a lot of stuff here, though some of its more cause its interesting than cause I think we'll need it."

[desperate_times_right]

“Might as well. We’ve got nothing but time, right?” When will he ever get another chance at relatively low-stakes studying like this?

[solitarysoul]

He chuckles a bit. "Exactly. I've got like nothing to do here and I can only patrol so many times in one day."

[desperate_times_right]

“Right? I didn't realize how much empty time I have in my day until I started working on the greenhouse.” She makes a face. “With all the quakes I've got to keep checking to make sure nothing came loose or cracked.”

[solitarysoul]

He frowns, "I hope those stop soon. They freak Mary out. But I'm half expecting it to end with a big one that opens some huge cave system that's under the town." A pause. "Or a bunker."

[desperate_times_right]

“Did you get a chance to see that journal people found in the tower?” Chloe can't decide whether he's the type to explore there or not. “These quakes happened before once.”

[solitarysoul]

"No, I didn't make it up there. I asked a few people about it...what'd it'd say about quakes?"
