Barricades
Through out the month, Levi stations himself at the barricades near the mine entrances. He'll visit the Milton side each day, standing guard and watching the mine entrance for a few hours before moving on. On this side he's more casual, but when he visits the Lakeside entrance he's more on guard. There he stands at attention and keeps an eye on any sign of Forest Talkers. Early in the month he visits that side every few days, but as the month goes on he visits it less. Maybe the Forest Talkers had more to worry about than planning revenge for the kidnapping.


Tea Time
Levi'd been out in the woods for a long time when he came across the old woman. She was strange, but the fire was very welcoming. As was the tea, though his instinct was to mistrust it. She clearly wasn't a Forest Talker, though, and Bill and Methuselah were safe enough. He still didn't trust the old man (he probably never would) but none of them had given the Interlopers anything to hurt them. Mostly, though, he was cold and hot drinks did wonders to warm hm up. He probably should have listened to his instinct, though.

Early afternoon one day a child comes wandering into Milton from the wilds. At 10 years old, Levi's oversized coat is now comically large. He's rolled his pants and sleeves up as much as he can and he's dragging along a rifle that's much too big
for him. Maybe he should have left the rifle behind but there were wolves out in the woods and he was too afraid to leave it. Thankfully he hasn't tried to fire it, since the skinny, somewhat malnourished kid's body wouldn't take the recoil well. He looks like he's been crying and if he spots you he'll start to hurry over and then stop.

Adults could be scary. He doesn't know if they are here or not, but he should be careful. He doesn't know how he got here but what if him doing so was bad? He could get in trouble! Getting in trouble was really bad.

Or maybe you're resting quietly in your cabin and hear someone try the door. People might be around, but a house was better than being out in the snow and maybe if he's really careful he can duck inside for just a few minutes. Hopefully no one is home, but if they were he could be quiet!


Laying next to Meow
Though the larger tremors were obviously an issue, even the smaller ones could be a problem. After this last minor one Levi could be found kneeling on the ground next to a random cabin's porch. He's looking at something under it and speaks in a soft, calm voice. "Its okay Mary. The shaking's over. You can come out now."

From under the porch a small, pitiful meow responds to him.


Wildcard
Or maybe you run into Levi somewhere else. He's still going about his normal daily patrols, hunts and log chopping exercises. He over nights in the community hall like usual, and even makes it out to the basin, hot spring or Lakeside (more than just the mine entrance) at points during the month.

He just kind of looks at her for a few seconds. Does she really not know what a gun it? "Um...it shoots, um..." At this age, though, Levi doesn't really know much about guns. He holds it out so she can see the barrel. "Through this hole here. You pull the trigger and it fires."

[meadqueen]

“Where is the trigger?” She’d like to see it fire but doesn't want to seem too interested.

[solitarysoul]

A sec, the rifle is really too long for a ten year old, but he shifts it so that the barrel is pointing upwards and the butt is on the ground then points at the trigger. "This...I think."

[meadqueen]

“You don't even know!” Randvi gasps, offended. “You're making it up.”

[solitarysoul]

"Nuh-uh! I've just never touched one before."

[meadqueen]

“Well, why do you have one, then? Did you steal it?” He might really be in for it then.

[solitarysoul]

"No! It was there when I woke up. I took it cause I heard a wolf." He wouldn't be able to fire it well at this age, but the noise might have scared something off. Also it made him feel better for some reason.

[meadqueen]

“We should head farther into the village if there are wolves.” One could eat this boy up in one gulp.

[solitarysoul]

"Y-yeah...and get inside where its warmer."

[meadqueen]

“Good idea. Perhaps we can find some clothing that will fit you better.” And she’d thought her own clothes were too big!

[solitarysoul]

He nods. "The pants are all wet and keep making me trip. It sucks!"

Since its such a good idea, he starts moving further into town and towards the first cabin or building they see.

[meadqueen]

Randvi follows behind. The child really is swimming in that outfit. She would never make a thrall wear something like that.

Suddenly she stops and points.

“There. There is smoke rising from the chimney.”

[solitarysoul]

He stops and looks up at the smoke. Was that good or bad? If the people were nice maybe they could tell him where they were. But if they were mean... But also its really cold and he would like to go inside even if the people there might hurt him. Levi adjusts his path to be heading towards the building the smoke is coming from.

Everything in this town looks so strange, from the building materials to the shapes of things. Randvi has never seen anything like this before. She hesitates at the glass door for a moment before pulling it open for the small boy. It looks as if a group is feasting in here.

[solitarysoul]

Its really nice of Randvi to hold the door open for him but he still hesitates. Is she still trying to make him her thrall, whatever that is? Or is she just being nice because she's not at her home where she has that power? He only hesitates for a second, though, because its cold outside and he doesn't want to make her upset with him.

He steps away from the door and puts the rifle down. He doesn't needed here, with so many people. The whole scene is a shock, though. Where were they?

Randvi looks to the boy and then to the crowd, nervous. Normally she can handle any crowd, but she doesn't know what manner of people these are.

“Do you recognize any of them?” They look strange, they could be from Prehevil.

[solitarysoul]

He shakes his head. "N...no. I don't think so. They're dressed weirdly, too."

The mismash of styles from 2014 and everyone's homes really doesn't help him figure out where they are.

[meadqueen]

Randvi’s confidence looks a lot different than it had outside, as her expression hardens while looking at the strangers.

“Stick close to me. We don't know what they'll do.”

Being taken as a thrall here would be way worse than being a Reindeer thrall.

[solitarysoul]

"O-okay." He steps closer to Randvi, just in case.

[meadqueen]

“Even their food looks strange. Do you know any of this?”

[solitarysoul]

"Ummmm." He looks for a moment or two. "That's soup and that's, um, meat but I don't know what kind." He points helpfully to the dishes.

"It doesn't look like what we have back home." Its not nearly suggestive enough to be Prehevil specialties.

[meadqueen]

Randvi makes a little face - she knows what meat looks like - but he's just a kid and she doesn't want to make him cry again.

“Me neither. I wonder where we've ended up.”

As alarming as it is, it's a bit of an adventure.

[solitarysoul]

"Milton," he remembers the sign. But a town name didn't really help. "B-but I've never heard of a Milton. So its not near Prehevil...its too cold to be by home anyway."

[meadqueen]

“It sounds like it should have a mill in it, but I haven't seen one.” Why else would you call your town Milton?

[solitarysoul]

"Me either. But I don't know if I've ever seen a mill."
