Chloe had wondered whether to go through with the harvest party once Lalo had disappeared, but as they say, the show must go on. There's still a lot worth celebrating, and people need something hopeful after the mess last month. Luckily her house had made it through everything all right.

The poster had said to wear a costume, so she's hoping to see a lot of those, and she’d recruited some people to help her put together the menu exactly to Lalo’s specifications, so unfortunately no one is safe from British Potatoes. There are even candles for the birthday cake.

Chloe herself is dressed as a sexy lumberjack, with one of Lalo’s old flannels tied in a knot under her breasts and denim cutoffs made from the jeans Kostya had gotten blood on (shh). She's got a fire roaring, because otherwise she’d freeze.

[Randvi is a bit taken aback at Bigby’s shock.]

The sign said to wear one. My understanding was that you need it in order to get cake.

[Ulfrùn yips happily at his feet. It echoes absurdly inside the fox skull.]

I don't think they're turning you away or not giving you cake just for not wearing a costume. [ .. not that Bigby has tried, actually.

It's not like he's a huge cake enjoyer, after all. He hasn't even tried to get some.. So it's not like he'd know for sure whether or not the lack of a costume stops you from that.. ]

Besides-- [ He shakes his head, forcing himself to get back to the point. It's not that hard when the thing that horrifies him is still right in front of him. ] It's not you that's the problem here!

Oh, Ulfrùn’s costume? I think she looks quite fearsome.

[Ulfrùn prances a bit, showing off her cloak and skull for Bigby.]

[bigbaddy]

[ Bigby opens and closes his mouth a few times, like there's something he desperately wants to say here but can't quite immediately figure out the wording for. You know, when something is so obvious and natural to you that you aren't even sure how to explain it to another person.. ]

Randvi-- [ He finally starts, looking sort of half-frantic, half-exasperated. He's even gesturing as he says it. ] You can't just dress her up!

[She must be missing something here.]

Why not? Lyanna made it in such a way that it is safe for her to wear, she won't become entangled. Besides, she seems to enjoy it.

[bigbaddy]

[ See, he still isn't sure how to explain this to her. It'd be so much easier if Randvi just somehow understood his own immediate horror - but then again, she is truly a human, huh. Not like most of the people here are going to understand it because of that innate difference between them and Bigby.

It's why he visibly even looks like he's struggling with his words here. ]

How many animals have you seen wear clothes before?

[ Technically in his world some animals were more clothes than others..

But they're outliers, okay. They're outliers and shouldn't be counted! ]

Horses wear armour often, and even some wolves, though not ones as young as Ulfrùn.

They make wolves wear armour where you come from?!

[ Apparently this information does not soothe Bigby in the slightest. If anything, he only looks even more bewildered by this information.. ]

The ones that serve alongside us in battle wear it sometimes, to protect their bodies from bladed weapons and horses.

[bigbaddy]

[ Bigby lets out a sigh, and then allows his face to sink into his hands. ]

Your world is seriously messed up, Randvi.

[ And that's saying something when it's coming from the person who is from a literal fairytale world.. And not the fun Disney kind of fairytales.. ]

[Sorry Bigby, but this is really funny to her.]

You would rather they get stabbed?

I would rather have them not have to fight for humans!

[ It flies out of his mouth almost instinctively. While Bigby doesn't necessarily seem angry, he does seem very exasperated - which is likely the emotion that's birthing the relatively instinctual response.

And at least he does add a little bit more when the rest of his brain kicks in: ]

I don't think in my world that will ever happen, but ours are spoiled and well-fed otherwise.

[bigbaddy]

[ He shakes his head. ]

You humans are weird. [ Sorry, Randvi. ] I'm just glad no one is making me dress up.

[ Even if Bigby wasn't able to protect all the other canines here from suffering that fate.. ]

If it helps, I doubt that anyone would do that to Diefenbaker.

[Ulfrùn is still strutting around in front of Bigby, showing off her costume as the skull bounces ridiculously.]
