Chloe had wondered whether to go through with the harvest party once Lalo had disappeared, but as they say, the show must go on. There's still a lot worth celebrating, and people need something hopeful after the mess last month. Luckily her house had made it through everything all right.
The poster had said to wear a costume, so she's hoping to see a lot of those, and she’d recruited some people to help her put together the menu exactly to Lalo’s specifications, so unfortunately no one is safe from British Potatoes. There are even candles for the birthday cake.
Chloe herself is dressed as a sexy lumberjack, with one of Lalo’s old flannels tied in a knot under her breasts and denim cutoffs made from the jeans Kostya had gotten blood on (shh). She's got a fire roaring, because otherwise she’d freeze.

If anything, it seems like they don't need costumes whatsoever at the party in his opinion - considering he's wandering the party not wearing any costume at all. He's kind of looking out of place in general, like he has no idea what to do at a party. Bigby may just be here to make sure the entire thing doesn't get too wildly out of hand, especially with his own kid acting like a total fool..
Which means that by the time Zoey may be walking past him or spotting him, Bigby has definitely already gotten around to just drinking some shots. It doesn't even seem like it's really getting him drunk - he's mostly just looking kind of miserable. Too miserable for a party, anyway.

Well, that’s… worrying. She catches sight of him and he… he looks kind of miserable.
“Hey, Bigby,” she answers, stopping whatever she might have been doing in that moment and slipping closer to him, head tilted as she studies his face. There’s no hiding her concern, at least not from him. He knows her well enough by now to catch it. “What’s going on?”

She's asking about what's going on with him. Because she's totally catching onto the fact he's not having a great time here.
Maybe it's because of that - and also because he knows he isn't able to ever escape Zoey's questions so easily once she asks them - that he just gives in and tells the truth. Letting out a sigh, he answers: "I mean, do you think I look like a party person?"

Zoey can’t help but laugh softly. “No, I really don’t. But it also it seems like you’re feeling a little more miserable than a party necessarily calls for, even not being a party person? Are you okay? Beyond being here, at this PARTICULAR party, anyway.” But maybe he just REALLY fucking hates it. She could be wrong.
But he’s her friend. So she worries, and is going to check in on him.

The first part might sound like he's trying to underplay what's going on, but when the man continues, he really is speaking the truth. There's nothing too special going on, it's just.. massive social awkwardness. Bigby can act just fine in some other situations, even dealing with criminals at all, but regular socialisation at a party?
It'll be the end of him.
"Not to mention that everyone is wearing these--" He makes a vague hand gesture, like he's imagining she will be able to get what he means with just that.
Clearly no one would though, especially since Zoey is no longer a seer here, so he adds. "--Costumes."
Sexy costumes, Zoey. It's too much!
