Chloe had wondered whether to go through with the harvest party once Lalo had disappeared, but as they say, the show must go on. There's still a lot worth celebrating, and people need something hopeful after the mess last month. Luckily her house had made it through everything all right.

The poster had said to wear a costume, so she's hoping to see a lot of those, and she’d recruited some people to help her put together the menu exactly to Lalo’s specifications, so unfortunately no one is safe from British Potatoes. There are even candles for the birthday cake.

Chloe herself is dressed as a sexy lumberjack, with one of Lalo’s old flannels tied in a knot under her breasts and denim cutoffs made from the jeans Kostya had gotten blood on (shh). She's got a fire roaring, because otherwise she’d freeze.

Rorschach? [Randvi knows him from the library, as well as the preparations for La’an’s funeral. It's shocking to hear that.] Over that? With everything happening here?

[She makes a little disgusted face. Saxons.]

Was anyone hurt?

[ It's actually kind of rare to tell this story and to see the other person react in this way. It's not the first time, no, but-- It's rare enough that Billy does feel some satisfaction from seeing someone else understand that what happened that night was truly insane. ]

Only that man himself. He was attacking Cornelius, and I-- [ Hm.

Billy at least knows better than to make 'I set him on fire' an active thing here, that's not going to put him in the best light. Not to mention that it's not like it's a lie if he twists it just a little, like-- ]

My powers were still new back then. I did not have control over them. So when I panicked as I saw Cornelius getting attacked, Rorschach's hand suddenly caught on fire. He ran outside to put it out in the snow and then ran away after further insulting us.

[Don’t worry, Randvi has the same power and there are lots of people she would set someone on fire for attacking.]

Good. I suppose after a demonstration like that he's not returned.

[ He shakes his head. ]

Thankfully.

[ Because if there's anything Billy doesn't want to deal with, it's a round two with Rorschach!! He won't stand for himself if he sets the other on fire over it!! ]

Unless he has encountered Cornelius privately since then. [ He frowns a little bit. ] It is a small town, after all.

[ As evidenced by how often Billy has had unfortunate run-ins with Irving, even though he was trying to avoid the man. ]

I think you would know.

[A good two thirds of the gossip around here is just hating that man. Randvi does it too on occasion.]

I'm pleased that things seem to be going well for you so far at this party, at any rate.

That is solely thanks to Miss Frazer. [ Okay, maybe there are some other factors at play here, but-- Billy doesn't mind giving a friend credit where credit is due. No matter how critical he can be in other situations. ]

I am sure she is ready to bodily throw someone out of the party if it ended up being at all necessary.
