Who: March and Bigby
What: Two dads, both alike in (in)dignity get very drunk
When: A while after connor's disappearance
Where: Bigby's place in Milton
Content Warnings: Standard March warning for alcoholism, issues around parental neglect and general guilt, will update as nessecary
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's what. He doesn't know Connor from Adam, but he can put two and two together. His detective senses--his common sense--says that maybe Bigby's not so hot since his kid hasn't been seen around lately. Sad, even. Angry, maybe.
He'd talked to Chloe a while ago about it, a little bit with Wynonna: March is trying this new thing where he starts letting people in a little more, stops relying on being an annoying dick and little quips to hide how hes feeling. Opening up so other people will open up, caring so other people will care, blah blah blah. He doesn't like it and it still feels foreign to him, feels wrong, but there's effort there.
Like now--because when push comes to shove, he gives a shit about Bigby Wolf. He knows both of them don't really talk about shit and have made a wonderful point not doing it until absolutely nessecary, so March has a plan. Why talk when you can drink?
The way to Bigby's cabin is familiar, March dressed in a lovely mustard yellow ski-suit that somehow works for him despite being an atrocity. He's got a bag full of lightly clinking jars, and after knocking he waits very patiently. When it opens, he doesn't force his way in like he usually does--he holds up the bag and looks straight at Bigby, incredibly serious.
"Wanna get drunk?"

"Wanna get drunk?"

And while Bigby's detective senses might be pretty decent, his self awareness isn't exactly great. Far from it. Even though he's been going around town not looking great, and even though multiple people have actually pointed out that fact to him, he still doesn't guess right as to why March is here.
Instead he says: "Did something happen?"
As if the reason the other is here to drink is because something fucked up happened with March, not with Bigby.

This is a bit weird. Is he treating Bigby with kid gloves? Probably, but he's not an idiot--he's seen the other and the state of him. He's a dad, he can put two and two together. It's weird caring about people. It's especially weird trying to reach out.
He tries to smile. It comes across like a weird grimace.
"Can I come in, or...?"

"You're asking?" The implication being, of course, that March is usually totally the type to let himself in. Even when it comes to people like Bigby, who always seem like they don't really want people near them.
Maybe especially when it comes to those people, actually.
But despite his own comment, it doesn't seem like Bigby has any real problem with letting the other into his house. He steps back, as if telling March to get his ass inside already.
"I must look like shit if you're actually asking."
