"Let's hit bricks," Raylan says in agreement, leading them off into the mountain pass. He liked this kind of shit, crunching around in the forest that gave them a little reprieve from the glaring sun. The sharp cold air was invigorating and it made him want to long step it all the way to Lakeside, but he was polite enough to pace himself to Zoey and Tim's strides. There was gonna be plenty of walking on this trip.
It only took about an hour before Raylan decided to fill the silence a little more.
"So what have y'all heard from the grapevine about what we're gonna find on the other side of the dam? I'm assumin' we're stayin' the night at Lakeside for at least a night, and I'm eager to take a look around. See what's changed."
He was also eager to see what Tim thought about it all. Tim was just as familiar with mountain people and the constant back and forth between tree hugging hippies, miners, and a Company wanting to invest in an area that was hostile to it.
