Closed - What's a little hike to the coast?

Who: Raylan, Big Tim™, Zoey
What: Traveling to Silverpoint
When: Middle of June
Where: On the road to Silverpoint; Silverpoint

Got that itch to see the waves again.
It had started out as a small thing. An idea that Raylan had gotten in his head, fed by locational claustrophobia. He'd been in Milton longer than he'd planned, for good reasons, but Tim was settled and the first wave of explorers had come back without stories of terror and trauma. Milton struck him too much like Harlan, even if the people were different. It was the small coal town of it all, one he'd been able to manage fairly well so far, the fact of which only made it more suffocating to stay. Thankfully, it was barely a discussion at all between him and Tim - the sniper got Raylan's plan with the first question of Raylan's packing and preparing, and was promptly invited along. Raylan would worry otherwise anyway, so he was happy when Tim said he'd come. Raylan was sure that Zoey, who he'd talked to a few days before hand as the idea was brewing and rallied into also coming with him, wouldn't mind.

Though how the pair would deal with their similar colorful circumstances wasn't something he could anticipate. Nor was how he was going to deal with it, considering the feelings of his that keep bubbling up around all the barriers he's ever built up.

The Marshals were prompt sort of men, especially with the never-ending sun fucking up any sense of day or night, and met Zoey at the edges of Milton at the mouth of the relatively new path out of the town. Both packed down with some gear and Goose between them, Raylan grins as Zoey joins them. Between the three of them, he was sure they were going to be just fine. Maybe even better than fine.

"Ready to go see what's over the horizon?" He really did love to get the hell out of wherever he was stuck at, when it came to places. "Wind's a little sharp but I don't think we'll have any trouble." He looks over at Tim, with a "What do you think?"

Zoey’s starting to itch a little. Restless. It’s inevitable, when she’s stuck in a place like this. Which is why, when Raylan started talking about how he’d been thinking about making a trip to Silverpoint she was an easy sell to join him.

The Marshals are prompt sort of men, and Zoey is a just as prompt sort of woman, so she’s just on the side of a tiny bit early to meet them with Chani trotting beside her, packed down with gear of her own (and an empty satchel for gathering supplies she might find on the way) and answering Raylan’s grin with one of her own before turning it on Tim, too. Her aura is a riotous swirl of fond purples and amused yellows, relaxed green, as well as the pink and gold she can't hide when she’s around Raylan. “More than ready, honestly,” she says with a laugh. “A change of scenery for a bit is deeply necessary.” Getting out of town with Raylan and Tim is exactly what she needs. Besides, she can use this trip to map out Silverpoint and the path in between.

Even if the trip might be… interesting. Given that two out of the three of them are not the most subtle right now, what with the walking talking mood ring thing. And never mind the feelings she might have for one of their number. Together they’ll make a good team, she thinks.

Tim is desperate to get out of Milton, and apparently he's not the only one. The only reason he didn't go on the first expedition to Silverpoint is because his house just got destroyed and the timing was less than ideal.

Besides, he feels far more comfortable traveling in a small group with Raylan and Zoey than he would have with several people he doesn't yet know and therefore, doesn't yet trust. The loyalty between him and Raylan is implicit, and what's building between him and Zoey has the solid foundation of her saving him from frostbite.

All of this to say: there's nobody else he'd rather set out on this adventure with.

It is going to be interesting, what with two of them flashing like neon signs. Tim's aura is awash in the greens of content and comfort, the purples of familiarity, a brand new shade of electric blue marking his excitement. The pink, of course, that's always present when Raylan is. It's kind of hilarious, the way that he and Zoey match in that effect. He's laden with his share of gear, and he knows they've all triple and quadruple checked they have everything they need.

"I reckon we'll be fine. Should be at our backs for most of the trip." Barring any crazy weather disasters, but he knows that goes without saying. He looks between his two compatriots. "Let's get this circus on the road."

Zoey falls into step beside them, comfortable and at ease. The eternal sun is a change from the eternal night they’d gotten a year ago, but she thinks she prefers the night. At least there’s not much snowfall. Might make this trip a little easier if they’re not battling a blizzard.

Still cold, though. The day it’s NOT is the day she’s going to think the world’s ending. Again. Her running hot and having fire available at her fingertips is probably going to come in useful.

“I think staying at Lakeside is a good idea,” she agrees. “Having a proper roof over our head for another night before we head into the unknown. Can’t hurt to poke around again, either.” Given the earthquakes, and the already large change they’d caused. It absolutely can’t hurt. Who knows what else might have been unearthed. Zoey glances over at Tim. “Have you been to Lakeside, yet?” He’s still fairly new, and a lot has happened since his arrival, so. She’s not sure he’s had the time. Or the opportunity.
