Fast friends are hard to come by. [The quip is easy but with an edge of sarcasm - he knew the man was new like he was.]

So what is this - hungry enough to serve man for dinner?

[He wouldn't judge if that was the case, while it wasn't a path he could take yet, he understood it. There were still other options, in his opinion, even as hungry as he was.]
tinstar: (Oh please)

[The face Raylan makes at the answer and the offer is pure disgust, head pulling back a fraction as he frowns deeply under a furrowed brow.]

What? God no. I got more respect for the dead than that. [For now, anyway.]

Why- You know we got wood around here right? These big ass trees? Shit, broken chairs? Sacrifice a table? That axe could get you a lot more than some random man's asscheek will.

[Raylan's eyes narrow a little, in morbid curiosity instead of suspicion, and his gun slips back into his holster with a little snap of a button to secure it back in it's home.]

You got a name?
tinstar: (say what)

Raylan. You a prepper? Like. Doomsday or somethin'?

[Another 50/50 chance that someone will understand what he's saying, what he's asking.]
tinstar: (wtf)

[Oh at least a little bit, Raylan thought to himself, smart and polite enough to keep it off his face for the most part.]

I'm not sure there is a way back home, least one that doesn't include us bleedin' out into the snow. Not sure we're at ass fat levels of hard pressed, but as long as you ain't carvin' it off someone alive and bleedin'...
tinstar: (wtf)

[Raylan narrows his eyes. For all his own prepper tendencies, of which he had many, harvesting ass fat was still a good long way down the list of things he felt were a necessary action.]

'Fun', huh? [Great. His gut had been right the first time. This guy is fucking nuts, and Raylan doesn't for a second believe that this is just due to the environmental pressures they were under.]

You the one that made him a corpse?

[It wasn't about not listening - repeating questions back, testing a person's dedication to their answer. It was a legitimate strategy for LEO's to use during interrogations. But better that Scratch thought whatever he would.]

Mmhmm. How many other bodies you seen today? If someone's goin' around killin' people, then someone's gotta stop 'em. [Spoken in the most calm and rational tone of voice. Just a fact, like the color of the sky or the freshly fallen snow.]
tinstar: (wtf)

Wouldn't surprise me. [Blunt and to the point; Raylan was oddly blasé about about the violence - he wasn't grossed or weirded out by the body or very much by Scratch's former sawing, though he was properly disgusted and unsettled by the whole show without a doubt.]

Any idea if we got any of those.. wha'dya call 'em, tree talkers around?
