Barricades
Through out the month, Levi stations himself at the barricades near the mine entrances. He'll visit the Milton side each day, standing guard and watching the mine entrance for a few hours before moving on. On this side he's more casual, but when he visits the Lakeside entrance he's more on guard. There he stands at attention and keeps an eye on any sign of Forest Talkers. Early in the month he visits that side every few days, but as the month goes on he visits it less. Maybe the Forest Talkers had more to worry about than planning revenge for the kidnapping.


Tea Time
Levi'd been out in the woods for a long time when he came across the old woman. She was strange, but the fire was very welcoming. As was the tea, though his instinct was to mistrust it. She clearly wasn't a Forest Talker, though, and Bill and Methuselah were safe enough. He still didn't trust the old man (he probably never would) but none of them had given the Interlopers anything to hurt them. Mostly, though, he was cold and hot drinks did wonders to warm hm up. He probably should have listened to his instinct, though.

Early afternoon one day a child comes wandering into Milton from the wilds. At 10 years old, Levi's oversized coat is now comically large. He's rolled his pants and sleeves up as much as he can and he's dragging along a rifle that's much too big
for him. Maybe he should have left the rifle behind but there were wolves out in the woods and he was too afraid to leave it. Thankfully he hasn't tried to fire it, since the skinny, somewhat malnourished kid's body wouldn't take the recoil well. He looks like he's been crying and if he spots you he'll start to hurry over and then stop.

Adults could be scary. He doesn't know if they are here or not, but he should be careful. He doesn't know how he got here but what if him doing so was bad? He could get in trouble! Getting in trouble was really bad.

Or maybe you're resting quietly in your cabin and hear someone try the door. People might be around, but a house was better than being out in the snow and maybe if he's really careful he can duck inside for just a few minutes. Hopefully no one is home, but if they were he could be quiet!


Laying next to Meow
Though the larger tremors were obviously an issue, even the smaller ones could be a problem. After this last minor one Levi could be found kneeling on the ground next to a random cabin's porch. He's looking at something under it and speaks in a soft, calm voice. "Its okay Mary. The shaking's over. You can come out now."

From under the porch a small, pitiful meow responds to him.


Wildcard
Or maybe you run into Levi somewhere else. He's still going about his normal daily patrols, hunts and log chopping exercises. He over nights in the community hall like usual, and even makes it out to the basin, hot spring or Lakeside (more than just the mine entrance) at points during the month.

Well she doesn't sound happy so he takes a step back, shrinking in on himself somewhat. "I-I-I don't know how I got here and its really cold."

“I don't know either, but it's going to be all right. My father Arne Jarl has the largest army in eastern Norway, and he will be looking for me.”

This little boy does not look Norse to her, though.

“Where did you come from?”

"W-what's a Jarl? I've never heard of Norway." It must be a part of Oldegård, since that was up north where things were snowy.

"I'm from Prehevil. B-but its nothing like here."

[meadqueen]

“He’s a king. If we were doing things correctly you should salute me, but it's okay.” Magnanimous.

“You must be from the south, then.” Randvi’s never heard of Prehevil, but she's never much cared what people are doing on the continent aside from being conquered. “We might have to keep you in that case.”

[solitarysoul]

"O-oh! Sorry." He does an awkward salute, though its obvious this Levi hasn't done one before.

"Yeah...Prehevil is much south-er than here. We don't ever have this much snow!" Wait.. "What do you mean keep me? I want to go home!" Sort of.

[meadqueen]

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic, but he’ll improve. He seems smart enough.

“If you come from enemy territory you might have to get absorbed into the Reindeer Clan. You’d have to be a thrall at first but if you've got thick enough blood you might grow up to be a raider.”

[solitarysoul]

"W-what?" He looks like he's about to cry again. "B-but I'm not from enemy territory. We're not at war with anyone."

[meadqueen]

“You don't look like any Norseman I've ever seen,” Randvi sniffs. Much too scrawny.

“Don't cry though. I bet it's better being a Reindeer than living down there anyway.”

[solitarysoul]

"I-I-I don't wanna be a Reindeer thrall!" The orphanage was hellish but at least he wasn't a thrall. (What was a thrall? He's not sure but it doesn't sound good.) "I wanna go home!"

He is straight up crying now.

[meadqueen]

Uh oh. Dealing with foreigners isn't the same as taking care of her sister’s children.

“Don’t cry. Maybe I can talk to my father and take you as a thrall for our family. If I can tell you what to do I'll only make you do fun tasks like rope braiding and fishing.”

[solitarysoul]

"That's not fun! I don't wanna be a thrall for anybody!"

[meadqueen]

“Well, you shouldn't have gotten lost, then.” Honestly.

[solitarysoul]

"But I didn't get lost! I was just suddenly in the woods and I don't know where this is!"

[meadqueen]

“If you don't know where you are, that means you're lost.” This child really will be better off growing up Norse.

[solitarysoul]

"W-well, do you know where we are?"

[meadqueen]

“Of course I do!” She doesn't. “We’re still in Graenafylke. The soldiers will find us.”

[solitarysoul]

"Nuh-uh! The sign said Milton."

[meadqueen]

Randvi gives the boy a scathing look. “What sign?”

[solitarysoul]

"The one on the way to town!" He points towards whatever way it is. "It says Milton."

[meadqueen]

“What? No it doesn't!” Randvi sputters, irritated that this boy thinks he knows more than her, but she can't deny the indicated sign when she looks at it. “That probably doesn't even mean anything.”

[solitarysoul]

"Yes it does! It means you don't know what you're talking about!" Said with all the force of a ten year old who knows he's right.

[meadqueen]

“Ugh! You insolent little-” He deserves to be a thrall, talking to her like that. “You don't know either.”

[solitarysoul]

"So what? I didn't try to pretend it was some place I was the princess of."

[meadqueen]

“It is!” Randvi’s voice is pitching higher the more upset she gets. “I don't know what that stupid sign is but we are absolutely still in Norway.”

[solitarysoul]

"Nuh-uh. Norway's not even a real place."
